Breaking up is hard to do. No matter how much you wrap it up in pretty ribbons to soften the honesty blow. You can't polish a turd! It is what it is and it is never an easy task or one to take lightly.
How do you do it the easy way? Really there is no answer. Obviously a ' sorry you’re dumped' text is out of the question.
Do I have a final shag? No, because that's selfish, even if she rocks your bed/world in more ways than one.
Every relationship is different. Being honest takes great courage! Making a monumental decision is life changing. Not just for you, but the partner you’re choosing to break up with. Parting ways can be so messy. I mean who gets to keep the blender, the dog, the rug you both picked at that hippy market in the summer, the photos from the last holiday?
When is it ok to move on? We have to get on with it and not let life consume us with self-doubt. We have to make choices.
You must make a choice to take a chance or your life will never change.
A break up can be the beginning and not the end. Allow yourself an opportunity to reflect on what happened and some time out. Then when you’re ready take the bull by the horns or the lobster by its claws and find that someone special.
Choices, Chances and Change.
Today I looked at you in a new way
A way that made me think
I thought I'd love you forever
But then I realised our forever was broken
Our forever faded over time
It got lost upon the way
The saddest thing about it is
I meant it at first
Forever but,
It's gone.
It left with the last sunset
The times I just couldn't smile
Even the way we sat had changed
You like pancakes
I don't
You like yin
I don't
I like the walk in the autumn sun
You don't
I like yang
You never did.
At first it was ok to be different
It made a happy balance
But the cracks began to appear
I started to see
I hated it at first
I even fraught against my dislike
It was time to be honest
Realise the end was near
The tears I cried
The pain I felt.
Well we did it
We split
We cried
It was over
What next?
Watch this space
The world is a changing place,
And there is an oasis of choices and chances ahead.
